3rd Perception management course at Kimin PMC begins
KIMIN, July 26: 10th Bn ITBP, Kimin has been identified by Ministry of Home Affairs as a Perception Management Centre (PMC) with aim to create awareness about importance of vocational training and to impart knowledge to the border people on Bee keeping, Horticulture, Floricultures, Fish farming, Poultry, Veterinary, Fruit and Vegetable preservation. The aim of centre would be to inculcate the training to villagers for self employment opportunities.
The third perception management course for 20 civilians commenced today at the unit campus of 10th Bn and will end on 5th of next month.
Rajesh Kumar Tomar, Commandant 10th ITBP while speaking in the opening ceremony said that it was a matter of great privilege that 10th Bn has been identified as the PMC by the Union Home Ministry. Besides imparting training on self employment generation, the centre will also provide different knowledge about various border area hazards, their causes of occurrence, preventions, disaster management, first aid kit, etc. Renowned Faculties, Instructors will come for taking lectures on various subjects and fields from the govt departments of Arunachal Pradesh who all are trained professional in their respective fields.
A certificate regarding qualification will also be given to each participant after successful completion of the course. Commandant 10 ITBP also emphasized the need of some sincere efforts by the people of Arunachal Pradesh to come up in a much dedicated manner for the development of the society, state and ultimately for the nation.
GWS alleges lethargy and inaction
ITANAGAR, July 26: The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) condemned the alleged lethargy and inaction of the investigating agencies in the unnatural death case of Late Tachi Nguso who died under mysterious circumstances after a vehicle accident on the morning of June 15.
The society has pointed out ‘lacunae in the action of the concerned authorities’ after the incident. The Police have registered the case under Section 304 (A) and 279 of the IPC which are bailable offence. But no case has been registered for custodial death, murder, assault and torture of the victim by the police, the Society claimed while adding that Police have failed to make arrest of any of the culprits involved in the case except the driver of the Police vehicle involved in the case who had reportedly surrendered before the police.
The Society further claimed that the case has been handed over to the Special Investigation Team but so far they have not carried out any investigation. A senior officer in the rank of DSP or ASP should have been appointed as the SIT Inquiry officer, it said.

The Lendo Ao Welfare Association has also alleged delay tactics of arresting the police personnel involved in it. The Association said mere transfer to the PHQ is not a punishment and demanded punishment to the police personnel allegedly involved in the incident leading to death of Late Nguso immediately. It said the amount sanctioned should not be on compensatory ground, a hefty amount in lakhs to be sanctioned for better education to the children of late Nguso. The Association hoped that the enquiry committed report will be fair.

BOMDILA, July 26: Although West Kameng District is supposed to be a protective habitat for wild life, there has been massive hunting activities in the entire district from recent past mostly out of fascination of killing animals and birds by educated people from affluent societies to merely fulfill their hobbies endangering lives of precious species of wild life leading to ecological imbalance.
In order to put halt on rampant huntings so as to ensure peaceful coexistence and harmonious living with nature and wild life, Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Rinchin Tashi issued order directing all law abiding citizens of the district to refrain from such illegal huntings. The order warned that any person found guilty on conviction shall be punished with sentence of imprisonment or with fine or with both as per relevant section of the wild life protection Act 1972 extended to Arunachal Pradesh. ITANAGAR, July 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party Arunachal Pradesh today joined the celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas in commemorating victory over enemy in 1999.

Firstly, Murali was dubbed a "chucker" right in the budding stage of his career and found himself suspended, ostracized in the international arena. Any other cricketer of lesser grit would have quit the scene at that very juncture. But through sheer perseverance, determination and courage, Murali went on to dominate the world and achieve all things seemingly unachievable.
Secondly, Murali's decision of retiring after the first Test at Galle (announced
prior to the commencement of the series), still 8 wickets away from reaching the
magical figure of 800, was simply unbelievable. Despite Murali's greatness, there

Govt should ensure safety of the RTI activists
Dear Editor,
The recent murder of RTI activist Amit Jethwa is a big blow to democracy and highly condemnable. This shameful and unfortunate incident has once again proved that the corrupt officials, politicians and their accomplice are against the invoking of the RTI Act. In their unending greed to amass huge amount of wealth through unethical and illegal means, they can even go to the extent of committing a heinous crime of killing a man, who is dedicated to expose corruption. The culprits responsible for this dastardly act must be traced and brought to the book promptly. Exemplary punishment must be awarded to the perpetrators of this crime, irrespective of their position and status.
Henceforth the government should ensure the safety of the RTI activists by providing them with police protection, to prevent such incidents. Such acts of crime are against the essence of democracy and civil society. If the safety of the activists is overlooked by the government, the enemies of democracy will continue with such immoral and criminal activities of targeting the activists. God forbid! If such unfortunate incidents continue to occur, the people may loose faith in democracy and anarchy may prevail. I hope the government is listening.

Declare withheld results
Dear Editor,
I, on the behalf of the B.A. 1st yr students of Dera Natung Government College, whose results have been withheld, would like to appeal the concerned authority to declare the withheld result on humanitarian ground as early as possible. The victimised students are under tremendous trauma.The trauma is inevitable as many of them, with great hardship, did manage to get themselves registered in the college.
This act of kindness by declaring the results, on the part of the concerned authority, will be a blessing to the students. And will give them a grand chance to learn from their mistake and improve themselves by being more careful and dedicated. I hope that the authority may kindly look into the grievance and take immediate steps.

ITANAGAR, July 26: All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU), in an emergency meeting today demanded the Itanagar Police to arrest those culprits who attacked Govt employees on duty and damaged govt properties at Chandranagar Power House on July 24 last. ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Graduate Junior Engineers Association (APGJEA) has strongly supported the Indian Engineers’ Federation’s move and the resolutions adopted during mid term council meeting of INDEF on July 24 last, which included constitution of Engineering Commission, heading and manning of technical departments by technical personnel and removal of disparity in career values of engineers.
APGJEA said that the meeting helped the association members interact with federation engineers and take up its grievances with the federation for quick redressal.

‘Pollution control devices working normally’
ITANAGAR: Pollution control devices installed at Satyam Ispat, Banderdewa are working normally and satisfactorily, claimed a factory release.
The staff and workers of the iron factory led by PRO Phassang Tadung and general manager of the factory Rakesh Sharma today inspected all the pollution control devices within the factory and found to be functioning normally. The workers and staff also expressed their satisfaction over the functioning of the devices, the release claimed.
The reported pollution hazard due to emission of smoke from the factory is baseless, the release added.
